Our lawyers also have extensive experience in energy transactions, and have been involved in various major gas projects that have been implemented carried out in Greece.
The firm has been involved in all of the major gas projects that have been carried out in Greece, as well as in feasibility studies for energy projects. The firm’s experience also includes representing foreign companies selling power and gas in Greece and companies entering the Greek oil market. Renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric and waste-to-energy are also part of our practice. Furthermore, the firm provides advice to international companies in all aspects of the construction of major power plant projects abroad (South Eastern Europe, Middle East, North Africa). The team provides high-end legal services at all stages of the oil & gas production process, including the transportation, storage, sales, trading and the development of processing facilities.
The firm has extensive experience in Energy & Infrastructure Projects such as The National Natural Gas Transmission System which transports gas from the Greek-Bulgarian border and the Greek-Turkish border to consumers in continental Greece (main gas transmission pipeline and its branches), as well as the Thessaloniki to Skopje Crude Oil Pipeline.
Ioannis Vassardanis, head of the Energy department, has also been involved in the creation of legal frameworks within the energy sector. He has worked, inter alia, on a law reform project concerning concession contracts in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). The project was carried out within the framework of the European Union Phare Programme entitled "Investment Options in the Energy Sector".
