PPPs, Concessions, Privatisations and Public Procurement
Our firm has a very strong track record in the construction, public works and procurement sectors, and has therefore been involved in some of the few PPP tenders in Greece following the Law on Public Private Partnerships Contracts introduced in Greece by Law 3389/2005. Our lawyers have been involved in concession agreements related to major infrastructure projects and have inter alia advised one of the firm's clients on numerous occasions in relation to two concession agreements of two of the biggest infrastructure projects in Greece. The firm regularly advises clients on the negotiation and implementation of major privatization transactions, which are currently in process and more specifically some of the public tenders announced by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund mainly in the energy, transport and real estate sectors. Our firm’s expertise extend well beyond the Greek borders. We have been advising private companies in respect of concessions (highways) and PPPs abroad (electronic tolls for trucks, supply of vessels to the French marine corps to support overseas military presence) and public entities for the construction of energy efficient school buildings, the erection of rooftop solar installations and a pneumatic waste collection system under PPPs. The firm has also advised clients in relation to concession agreements in the Balkans and has worked side by side with two other firms on a law reform project concerning concession contracts in the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). The project in question was carried out within the framework of the European Union Phare Programme entitled "Investment Options in the Energy Sector".
